Twike

I would just like to say that i would really like one of these:

The Tw(in B)ike= The Twike

  • Electric motor: 5 kW
  • Range: up to 130 km (~80 mi)
  • Speed: 85 km/h (~53 mph)
  • Charge: 1 km/min at 230V
  • Energy pack: NiMH 360V 18Ah
  • Zero emissions electric drive yields the equivalent of 300-600 mpg!

For more info, go to TWIKE.us or to the Wikipedia entry on the Twike.

Using information from PG&E, a kWh of electricity costs about $.17 right now. That means that if a Twike has the 6 kWh NiMH battery installed, it would cost ~$1.02 to fully charge and it could go 80-90 miles on a full charge. That means that you are paying ~1.1-1.2 cents (thats ~$0.011-0.012) per mile in a Twike.

Wow.

[By the way, I thought to post this info while watching this documentary. It's called "Who Killed the Electric Car?" and it's about the death of the electric car with specific focus on the life and times of the General Motors EV1.]
